Learning to hold your breath is essential in swimming. Water is dangerous for humans because…
Pedagogy: “always listen to the child if he is well with the coach“
Émilie, sports coach for the first swimming learning network Swim Stars, is ready to play questions and answers and offers advice on “pedagogy” for parents.
Avant Swim Stars
I worked in a small swimming pool in Franche-Comté. And today, in addition to Swim Stars, I am responsible for the pool in Reuil-Malmaison.
Pendant Swim Stars
I teach Molitor in the swimming pool of the 5 star hotel. It is really good for children because the steps allow you to gradually enter the pool. And children can work on immersion with the super slide. But for those who want to take a mat ride on the water, it is also possible!
Pedagogy in water
I am truly in my element. Clearly, I chose this job for that, because I‘love water and love children! These are really my two passions united in one. I send them something that has animated me since I was little. Teaching for toddlers has always been at the heart of my profession.
Your cute sin
My favorite sin is Nutella! I have to not buy a jar of Nutella otherwise I eat it like a spoonful of yogurt in a week.
What do you think of the pedagogical approach of the AUTO-RESCUE courses?
It is the solution we were missing in the middle of swimming. It would be my primary motivation if I were a parent. What’s more, we teach them the basics of swimming. And it is possible from an early age. Even when a child is very young and scared, I always find a way to reassure him to lure him into the water. Indeed, the relationship of trust with the child is essential to achieve this!
What “pedagogy” advice would you like to give to parents?
You must always listen to the child if he is well with the coach.
The advantage of Swim Stars is that you can choose your lessons and your coach. On the other hand, if the experience is not good, it is not a question of good or bad coach, it is a question of feeling. So we can change and try again ! It is important to never give up because learning how to save yourself is fundamental.
Thank you very much Émilie for this educational tip!
So to sum up, all our coaches are trained to the Swim Stars pedagogy. The approach is to conduct lessons in small groups in a private and comfortable swimming pool with the coach in the water. The presence of the coach is benevolent and reassures the children. It allows quality supervision and personalized follow-up for each of the children. It is an ideal formula to be accompanied, to correct and progress.
